An expression of gratitude - of friendship. For once, things seem to have ended up well for the Vieran seamstress in a new place.

How long will it last? We'll see. For now, she'll enjoy the warmth she found in the frozen Ishgard.

The two seem to have stopped somewhere in Ishgard. Kelevra has her bandana back on, but looks to Averil while wringing her hands with a nervous smile on her face. Kelevra - "Well..I know this is as far as you can go. Can't have someone of your station be seen in a place like the Forgotten Knight, right? Eheh...but..before I go..I just wanted to say, Avi.." Averil and Kelevra embrance in a close hug, the signs of a smile on Averil's face are blocked by the arm of Kelevra. Kelevra "Thank you for being my friend."

Averil has recoiled, a look of shock on her face as she speaks. Averil - "Kelevra, I... I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to pry, and my frustrations got the best of me. I can't imagine the pain and loneliness you've endured in your travels. But I assure you... I will not cause you harm. I will not add to your wounds. You are not alone here. Not this time." Kelevra has a smile, almost relief, on her face, but her eye still gazes at the floor. Kelevra - "I...thanks, Avi. I appreciate your friendship, and the generosity you've shown me since I arrived here. Taking a chance on an outsider was already crazy enough, but someone that doesn't open up to you? Maybe I should have prayed for you at the church.." The camera pans wide again, showing relieved smiles on both Averil and Kelevra's faces. Averil - "You know, if you did do that, you would likely have to speak with my mother...again." Kelevra - "...I think I'd rather remove my good eye." Averil - "Haha, I'm not sure even the most gifted chirurgeon would help with that request - we've far too many torn clothes to repair. Come, let us get you back to the Knight before we lose the sun. And Kelevra...thank you. For sharing your trust."

With a look of sad resolve, her hand comes up to the bandana tied across her forehead. Kelevra has removed her bandana - revealing the scars on her face, and her glass eye to Averil as she speaks. Kelevra - "I'm from Dalmasca. My mother left our tribe before I was born, and fled to the desert. I grew there with her and a small clan. I sew in my spare time, mostly. ....It should be, yeah. Another gift from my dad, I guess." Kelevra continues to speak, a pained, sad look painted all over her face. Kelevra - "When I first arrived in Aldenard, I ended up in Gridania. Much like Ishgard, the people were cold. I was so lonely..I packed my things, and made way for Ul'Dah. Along the way, some bandits caught me off guard and they....they....took..." A look of anger, disgust, resolve, and regret swirls over Kelevra's face, her eye dropping to the floor again. Kelevra - "They stole from me. Things I can never get back, my eye least of all. The scars are a reminder not to let anyone get too close. I don't let anyone see. Every time I look in the mirror is enough of a reminder of my weakness. So I sew, and smith, and meld, to focus elsewhere.

Averil begins to berate Kelevra. Averil - "What?? WHAT?! I'll tell you what! Master Beatin told me more the day you arrived here than you have in four moons of our partnership! Where are you from?? What do you do in your free time?? Isn't Viera hair supposed to be white?!" Averil leans forward, still heatedly yelling at Kelevra. The Viera tries to get a word in, but can't. Kelevra - "I..." Averil - "Do you STILL not trust me?? Do you still believe me to be the same as the other ice-hearted citizens of my city? What must I do to break down even a single brick of those walls you have up?!" Kelevra looks down, a sad look on her face. Kelevra - "I...sigh..." Kelevra reaches her right hand up, looking down at it for a moment clearly worried and pensive.

Kelevra and Averil sit on a opposite couches in front of a fire. Kelevra is reading a letter of some sort, and Averil is sitting with a scrunched up face of annoyance and her arms crossed, staring at Kelevra. "Some time later.." The scene remains the same, except Averil opened her mouth, starting a "H-" sound. Averil closes her mouth, still staring angrily at Kelevra, who is now looking past the note she was reading with curiosity. Kelevra slumps slightly, her hands on her knees and her eyelid droops to an unimpressed gaze. Averil looks even more angry. Kelevra - "...What?"

Kel stars at a map of the stars as Averil walks up and speaks to her. Averil - "All do-oh. Gaining a new appreciation for the stars? You were the one rushing me around no less than a half bell ago." Kelevra looks over at Averil, a slight look of annoyance on her face. Kel - "We are still in a hurry. Can I not wonder at the artistry of the Astrologians with the one decent eye the Twelve saw fit to leave me with while you do your socialite socializing? If you're done, let's keep on." Inside a church, Kelevra holds a pile of clothing, looking to Averil, who has a large fake smile plastered across gritted teeth. Kelevra - "Here, take the orders and go ahead. I'm quite comfortable revering the Fury from out here. Plus, you might run into your mother in there, and I want no part of that interaction." Averil hisses - "How dare you put that evil thought into the world-I MEAN, wouldn't that truly be a blessing on this sun, running into Mother in a church of all places!"

Boy, this one turned out longer than I expected - but I enjoyed the banter, and revisiting one of my (very few) favourite job questlines - WVR 50-60. (Seriously, it's worth doing.)

A well-dressed Viera leaves through two factory doors. Behind her, the sounds of chaos are heard, and Stephanivien yells "BY THE FURY, IS THAT AUTO-TURRET LOADED WITH EXPLOSIVE ROUNDS?! WHY DOES IT HAVE GRENADES?!?!" Ahead of the viera, Averil is speaking to two Elezen. "...I can assure you, we can make it happen. Smithing, gemcraft, "the full nine yalms" as they say. We will be the preemptive omnicraft business operating in Ishgard!" One of the Elezen speak through a laugh while the other grabs her forehead frustratedly. "An outsider, be the first stop for Ishgard? Halone herself bedding a dragon is more likely! Hahaha!" Averil turns to Kelevra, now joining the group, both of their arms crossed. "What do you think, Kelevra? Is that true? Would the Fury lay with a dragon before coming to you for work?" Kelevra responds quickly "I spend my time honing my craft, not pondering the bedmate preferences of the Twelve. We'll let our work speak for itself when the time comes." Averil and Kelevra are walking across a bridge. Off in the background, a familiar but out of focus pair of Dragoons walk by. Averil - ""Pondering the bedmate preferences of the Twelve?" Goodness, I thought you said you were in a good mood today." Kelevra - "I am in a good mood. Now come on, we still have three official stops to make, plus I have deliveries to take back to the Knight."

Finally finding firm ground with a level of warmth, Kelevra finds herself in the unkempt quarters of a notoriously drunk tenant. Finally taking a moment to breathe, she wonders...did she make the right choice? Should she have left Ul'Dah?

Kelevra stares off at a length of rope barely tucked under a bed, and thinks to herself.. "Well, at least I won't have to go looking for rope to hang myself if the next few days don't pan out..." She then surveys a slew of knocked over, empty bottles. "What kind of absolutely vile drunk was in this room last..? Does their heart still beat after this much liquor?" Kelevra sits on the far end of the bed, staring at an ice-covered window. She thinks "Did I make the same mistake I made going to Gridania...? This place seems so much colder...but I have to try..." The text "A few months later..." are along the bottom of the image. Kelevra is standing in much nicer clothes, speaking to Stephanivien in the Skysteel Manufactory. Kelevra: "...Stephanivien, bullet holes are one thing, but I don't think I can fix cloth that's been burnt to a crisp. Maybe stick to projectiles, for now." Stephanivien: "Nonsense, Kelevra! Imagination in the playground of invention! If we can dream it, we can build it! If we can build it, we can use it! If we use it, we can PERFECT it! Surely a tradesperson such as yourself feels the excitement of boundless creativity??? Kelevra: "Sure, but my ideas don't generally explode. Please, try to stay safe, and don't burn the Manufactory down...before I complete your next order, at least."

Immediately suspicious of what seems to be an overly charitable Ishgardian, Kelevra entertains the girl for at least a walk to the cities inn.

The Viera gives a tired look, filled with skepticism and suspicion, in the direction of the girl. The Hyur in pink continues, unaffected by the look. Averil: "...He didn't mention any ailments preventing speech. No matter, I'm quite adept at coaxing shy tongues. Come, let us walk Ishgard; I will show you to the inn while we explore the more...colourful parts of the city. Grab your goods, and let us be off." Averil speaks again in a different area of the city. Averil: "We've arrived. The proprietor here is only interested in coin and barter; he has no care where your home was. Find a room, rest the night. I'll meet you in the morning next door, by the Congregation of the Heaven's Ward. Smile, friend. You are not alone here." The Viera is now draped in a regal, fur-lined red cloak, and carrying a box on her shoulder. She speaks to the owner of the inn. Kelevra: "I have a few thousand gil left. Will that cover a few nights? I can hem your workers' clothing, darn socks, and patch damn near any material to earn more time here. But first I need a good nights rest.." Gibrillont: "...It's been quite a while since we've had someone trained in the trades through here. I believe I do have some work you could do..."

A lightly clothed Viera shivers with a large backpack on her back in the middle of a walkway. She thinks to herself " "Kelevra: Nymeia's frosted nips, who in their right mind would live here?! I haven't felt my fingers since I left the airship, and it's only gotten colder with the setting sun! Maybe if I buy some furs, I can trade some craft for an inn room.." The Viera approaches a shopkeep, who points angrily at her. They exchange words, with the Elezens growing larger with each statement. Kelevra: "G-good evening, sir! I was hoping to p-purchase some...fffur-furs, if you'd be so k-kind?" Pasdevillet: "I have no interest in selling anything to you or your...ilk." Kelevra: "I...I don't...my ilk?" Pasdevillet: "You godsdamned Garleans are all the same! Think you can do whatever you damn well please, wherever you damn well please. Not. Here. Take your magitek and shove it up your - ahem. Good day, savage. Begone." A Hyur girl in a pink, fur lined dress appears from out of frame. She speaks while holding out a bag of gil. Stranger: "Pasdevillet, that is quite enough! If a foreigners gil isn't good enough for you, surely my families is. Here, take what is needed for...what, four furs and a few lengths of cloth? Throw in a cloak for good measure. You'll find the costs quite covered." The Elezen loudly clicks their tongue, then yammers on about how visitors to Ishgard will burn the place down like the dragons did. The girl addresses the Viera directly. Averil: "I apologize for his behaviour. Ishgard is not hte warmest of climates, and many have adopted the same icy demeanor. I have it on good authority from one Master Beatin that a talented Vieran seamstress was on the airship that arrived earlier today. I hope that to be you?"

The Viera is again at the airship ticket vendor, her head in her hands and her eyes closed. Elyenora the vendor speaks "Hello again miss...Dare I ask, where you might be heading today?" Kel responds: "HELLO YES I WOULD LIKE ONE AIRSHIP TICKET ON THE FIRST DEPARTURE REGARDLESS OF DESTINATION THANK YOU I'M SORRY." but very rapidly, so the words all slur together. Kel stares up at tall, foreign architecture reaching for the clouds. She says "It's freezing here! Where the fuck did I end up?!"

The Viera looks uncomfortable, and nervous. She stammers as she speaks "I...uh, I mean...I...I-I want...to l-leave...um....uh..." The Viera runs away from the Airship Ticket Vendor, sprinting back the way she came. The Viera is back in her innroom, holding her legs close to her torso. Tears are streaming from her eyes as she yells "You f-fucking coward! You're supposed to be strong, you're supposed to be competent, and you're too damn s-scared to leave!" The camera pans out slightly as the Viera's head slumps against her legs, stifling the sound of her sobs as her gear lies scattered around her.

A Viera kneels over a backpack she's fiddling with, saying "Fucking asshole! I'm not afraid of leaving Ul'Dah. I'm competent, and strong, and fuck him! I could leave whenever I want to! I'll board an airship and go somewhere new, and write him a letter letting him know fifty NEW ways he can go fuck himself!" The Viera has changed clothes, put on her pack, and is striding through the Ruby Exchange towards the Lift Operator in Ul'Dah. She's muttering to herself, in increasingly lower volumes; "I'll go all over the entire star! I'll write him a HUNDRED letters, each describing a new technique for shoving his head up his own ass! Then he'll see! Then, I'll go to Tural, and I'll track him down, and walk up and say "Hey jackass! Look whose world is small now!" and punch him square in the dick. THEN, I'll find his dad, and punch HIM in the dick, to make it generational trauma! Hell, maybe he has a brother I can sleep with, just to really mess with him! I bet his brother is hot too! He'll see, and then he'll regret ever leaving and he'll be all like "Oh Kel, I'm so sorry I left, how can I ever make it up to you?!" and I'll be too busy being doted on by his hot brother, and then-" The Viera approaches a line of somewhat recognizable adventurers, all waiting at the Airship Ticket Vendor. She says "AND THEN, I'll find anyone else in his family left, and - oh hell, there's a line. Ugggggh..." Much later, the Viera approaches the counter. The Ticket Vendor, Elyenora, speaks: "Greetings, miss. I apologize for the wait. Where would you like to travel today? We have airships heading all over Eorzea!"

A Viera sits on a ships mast, thinking to herself "Why am I always sitting at the very edge of this ship mast? If I fell, it would be an actual nightmare to get back to land." The Viera looks over her shoulder as a ball comes flying at her, action lines indicating a high speed. She thinks "What in the hell is tha-" The ball hits the Vieras' head with a loud "Phuunk!" like a dodgeball sound. The blitz ball rockets off into the sky as the Viera falls from the ship mast.
