Blight Club forever ❤️ Much love to the whole team. Despite the fanguardian fuckery it mostly ended on a high note - the stuff from y'all (Voicemail Dump Truck, Blight Club, and GB Kidz especially) from the past few months was some of the best stuff made under the GB name

Sometimes when you feel like you're at rock bottom, you just need a little support. Keep up the good work king 👑

Honestly people want to believe in the "nothing really happens" philosophy so bad that they may actually will it into existence

On the other hand,

Strong social programs (single payer healthcare, education, housing) increases velocity
Progressive taxes increase velocity
Regulated financial markets increase velocity
Increased worker rights/unions increase velocity

These things must be addressed or things will get worse

I love that it has just enough grounding to center it, opposed to a vibes piece like Aggro Dr1ft. With that said in some ways it's more abrasive and inaccessible than Dr1ft. Also the Burial soundtrack rules

Chung's final film Web of Deception is his most underrated, a female driven Hitchcockian cat and mouse thriller. Very twisty, with some incredible giallo lighting, great performances, and stylistic influences from De Palma and Kubrick. Seriously, seek this one out!

His fourth film I Love Maria (aka Roboforce) is a blast. A neon drenched HK sci-fi riff on RoboCop full of mechs and silly weapons. This is the midnight movie of his filmography. Tsui Hark stars (and claims to have ghost directed this one)

After the big success of Royal Warriors, Chung got a bigger budget to make another film with Michelle Yeoh. The result was Magnificent Warriors, a Hong Kong riff on Indiana Jones. While it's not quite as kinetic as Royal Warriors it's just as full of incredible stunt work and a great sense of humor

Chung's second film Royal Warriors (aka Yes Madam 2 / In the Line of Duty 2) is maybe his most seminal work. Michelle Yeoh leads this incredible action spectacle with killdozers, chainsaw fights, and more.

In his debut, It's a Drink! It's a Bomb! a bomb smuggled in a soda can is lost, leading to a chase between criminals and a group of witnesses. This is a light buddy comedy through and through but with some great car action choreography, an adorable Maggie Cheung, and a JoJo coded villian
