Still figuring it out.

I need to repot this guy and figure out the humidity, but he pushed a new leaf this week and that is making me feel so much better. It’s the first one in this office (north facing, subterranean window) and he was so much happier in the last spot.

Grateful to the unions who fought to make post pandemic weather related closures a reality; to colleagues and friends working as essential personnel to keep students safe; to supervisors who approved /encouraged work from home in advance in the event campus was open but my commute was dangerous.

I went to my Congressman's local office today. First off, they were surprised that I was there. They said they had been getting phone calls, but I was the first walk-in. That said, the phones were not ringing off the hook. If the DC phone lines are busy, try calling the local office.

Y’all, they really let the horse back in the hospital (when a whole medical director-coo was also an option) and this time he knows his way around and he’s sick himself. I’m not trying to make light of it. It is just that awful.

Reflecting on all the times people 2-3 degrees away from my work assumed I would fill a vacant leadership position in my dept. And I knew a shouldn’t because even my years of service and institutional knowledge weren’t enough. I lacked an advanced degree and training on management, budget, etc.

This pivot turn (I see you #udacollegenations #udad1jazz) is a perfect example of why we don’t practice premature compliance. Good grief.

so far my #discover feed has a lot more #nature / #space #photography than my #fyp did and I’m not mad at it, but I wonder how that works.

Gotta put my phone down for a while, but looking forward to re-building 🧱 x 🧱 soon.

Dystopian novel isn’t the vibe I manifested for 2025, but here we are. What a glitchy end to this chapter. It’s still the 18th too.

Wherever we go, we will be there. Until we change the structures that govern how we operate, we will have a problem.
