It will never not be funny how obvious Akua is that she’s in love with Cat during the Praes arc. Nim noticed, and she’s smart but she’s not the kind of social experts the nobility are. By their standards Akua is /swooning/.

This death makes me disproportionally sad compared to how minor a character she was. We barely knew anything about Zoe, and it didn’t seem like there was much to her tbh, but I kinda fucking loved her.

Having to move as a Sealer like the Legandres must fucking suck. Most of their job is upkeep of wards, and wards can’t exactly be brought along with them. They need to find a replacement every time, and if that person’s a Sealer that doesn’t solve the problem, it just moves it.

This line from Cat is a big part of how Akua’s redemption starts. The drow empire was impressive, once. Now they’re squabbling savages in the ruins of their greatness. If Akua got her way, Praes would eventually follow the same path, because it isn’t sustainable
