Long story short, Grover Cleveland did not make casual visits to #Buffalo after 1883, he was elected governor and moved to Albany. Or after he was elected president.

Our current City Hall has a marble Cleveland bust inside and a bronze Cleveland statue outside, but he never set foot there. It was built after he died.

The most significant surviving #Buffalo site associated with Grover Cleveland is Old County Hall on Franklin St. When it was built, it was a joint City & County Hall. That's where Cleveland's office was when he served as mayor.

Here's another explanation. We have an authentic Fillmore house museum in East Aurora, which satisfies the demand for Fillmore sites. We don't have an authentic Cleveland house museum, because all of his #Buffalo addresses were demolished. So spurious claims arise to fill the gap.

And why are there few or no similar urban legends about "Millard Fillmore used to live at/visit [whatever #Buffalo address]?" Maybe it is because there is no longer much prestige value to claiming a Fillmore connection? I mean, Fugitive Slave Act. 'Nuff said.
