This would be a great day to come to the Greek Food Festival before it ends at 3. The lunch line is indoors out of the cold, and they still have chocolate baklava, Greek bread and spanakopita. One of the best foodie experiences in Fort Worth. (NW 21st at Jacksboro Hwy) www.fortworthgreekfestival.com

Morning update: At 48%, Taylor Rehmet was about 3,000 votes short of winning outright. The last Democrat in this race drew 40%, and Harris drew 42%, so Rehmet improved Dem turnout. However, he would need independents to win the Jan runoff and then the Nov general. (Rehmet in blue.) #sd9 #txlege

If you’re marching today, or if you’re not, the only message should be: The election starts Monday. Two Republicans and a Democrat are on the fall ballot for a state Senate seat. It’s the only partisan race. #sd9 #txlege

In his weekly email, Chairman Bo French acknowledges that no Chloe Cole Turning Point USA event was ever booked at TCU and there was no cancellation, unlike what Cole and others spread in viral social media attacks. (The event was always listed as “TBD.” It's at Birchman Baptist Oct 7.)

Best menu I’ve seen so far for DFW Restaurant “Week” — actually, August 4-31 — is at Wicked Butcher. $59 for 2 courses including some of the best prime steakhouse entrees and sea bass in town. Went twice during the Cliburn and it was very good.
