Is this the new Nintendo Pocket that’s sold for $150 (short) and $230 (long)?

With a clear indication that it’s early access and noting the version/build number, I would be interested in reading such reviews. In an ideal world, the review would also be updated as the game receives updates, especially when the update addresses concerns from the review.

This is what I immediately thought of, lol. And after that, my mind went to Chessmaster 3000 with the customizable pieces (the theme in this screenshot was awesome).

Imagine my surprise when today I randomly decided to check Steam to see if the last episode was revealed!

I have been saving the DLC episodes so I can play all of them in one go, and I can now finally feast.

Nobody bother me over the next 2 weeks.

Or maybe not, what do I know. Console gamers want the ease of use, plug and play, no fiddling around with settings approach, but we’re straying more and more from that path, I think.

At $600+ with an upgraded version coming out every 3 years, this is essentially a PC-like market. They don’t have to fail, but they can do a console/PC hybrid which you can upgrade with parts every year, and develop games that perpetually work on “PlaystationOS (check your specs for compatibility)”.

Consoles are edging extremely close to being proprietary PCs at this point. I think both Sony and Microsoft will eventually settle on selling branded, pre-built PCs that have some mechanism to run some exclusive games. It’s either that, or they go full Sega.

I think I’m much more comfortable with the platforming, but the combat also seems manageable. I haven’t had any boss that took me longer than 15-20 minutes. I think I’m nearing Act 2 - let’s see how it goes from here.

Excuse my ignorance as a non-US person, but what does “federal surge” mean here?

This review sold this game to me in the first couple of paragraphs. I loved the previous game.

The button seemed so absurd that I had to ask to make sure I was understanding correctly, lol.

Was this before or after you wrote something in the first line? If there was nothing written, what does generate document mean? I mean, does it just create a new document on any topic it wants?

Hey @brandrick.bsky.social ! I just went through this issue, and noticed a slight error: the link for the Virtually Unplayable video takes you to the emulator accuracy video. I thought you would want to be aware.

Omg, what!? Is this the first time we are hearing about a new game? Do I need to make a 10 minute Youtube video about this?

Jokes aside, this is awesome to hear - I will be eagerly awaiting to see more :)

Has it been a source of inspiration for any of your games?

Good to have some frame of reference. I bought into the Silksong hype because the game looked so awesome (never played Hollow Knight), but I’m afraid I’m going to bounce off of it when the difficulty spikes.

I never played a Souls game, but that sounds very similar to what I understand from “Souls-like”. Any truth to that?

Also, how does it compare to Metroid Dread? Some its boss fights had a lot of dodge-dodge-dodge-look for an opening kind of rhythm.

I know this is probably not possible, but is there any chance that the playtime count could be rolled back to the actual count? I have 150+h when I’ve played for 30-40. It bothers me that some of my games are at 10-20 hours, which will firmly keep them at the top of the “most played” category.

It looks like Ubi invented a new form of marketing here. You first receive bad press by showing off subpar versions until launch, then when the final game turns out better, the public opinion pendulum swings all the way around because expectations were low, getting extensive coverage. Good strategy.

Why not innovative and polished? They’re not mutually exclusive.
