I made a new app! AudioBookIt helps you manage your files that should be treated as an audiobook as if it were. No more 16 hour long MP3s from @brandonsanderson.com being hard to use! #ios #cosmere

Can I just have native development back when doing mobile? React native takes the worst of traditional mobile development and smashes it with the worst of web development… At least it isn’t my focus anymore for the time being.

My 7 year old came in to ask my wife, “In a fight between Thanos with just the gauntlet and Santa who do you think would win?” My wife quickly answered Santa and he said, “Me too.” And walked out to go back to whatever he was up to before asking his question.

If you use Swift Macros in a library, use this script to remove 50 megs of junk that Xcode forces into your binaries:

The fact that @microsoft.com tries to constantly up sale me when they install updates on my machine is absolutely asinine

My Apple Watch just failed at showing me the time! It was just the background with no time and no controls… 🙃

I spent way too much time last night working on a 3D print for a #daggerheart prop. Hopefully it turns out well tomorrow

Hmm. Do I spend 1/2 hour to do the task manually or 4 hours to automate it?

Good morning from the latest court hearing on redistricting! We're still waiting for Judge Gibson to pick a map, but she's entertaining arguments on SB1011 — the law the legislature passed rewriting some of the rules of redistricting. I'm live-skeeting this sucker. #utpol #Utah

AppStore Connect really leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to communication of problems. It is my first time setting up a subscription and I NEVER would have figured out I need localization of the subscription group to finish the metadata. Thankfully stack overflow helped me out.

Dr. Chen seems great from my reading of half of this so far.

The app I’ve been working on, AudioBookIt, is nearly ready to go to the App Store. Just need to give it a bit of polish and a bit more testing. It has been a breeze with all the new things in #SwiftUI since I can target iOS 18 with it.

@darringtonpress.bsky.social tried asking on X since you weren’t active here yet. So uh, how do I get permission to make a utility iOS app for Daggerheart? I keep seeing them pop up and am wondering how they actually got a response (my emails have been ignored) or if they are breaking terms…

I started dabbling into CarPlay today for the app I’m working on in my spare time and it is not very straightforward so far… Just getting it launching without a crash took me a good while… There aren’t many resources for it either which is interesting.

I still am not enjoying react native but wow TanStack Query is incredibly cool. There might be a part of this app I enjoy working with.

Well I spent a lot of time looking for a good MarqueeText view for SwiftUI and found nothing so I made my own and am quite happy with it.

Instead of becoming a react native developer I am becoming a prompt engineer 🙃 it is both really cool and terrible. At least I understand what it is outputting and I don’t have to write any RN nonsense myself really.

A great write up on how to notion about bound memory in Swift. forums.swift.org/t/how-to-thi...

I’m glad Matt Curtis took the time to port over the old Apple developer forum post covering the topic.
How to think properly about binding memory
One of the best posts I’ve read about this topic are over at the Apple Developer Forums (I had to dig to find this post again.) @Andrew_Trick's answer above addresses a lot of this in a surmised way. ...
