Immigration has not always been a top 3 issue for Latinos. From 2020-2024, we saw immigration drop below the top 5, down to number 10 in the summer of 2022. However, since Donald Trump’s inauguration in January of 2025, immigration has once again risen into the top 3.

For Americans across the country, the economy was the most important issue in 2024 - and this continues to be the case. However, many Latinos now feel their situation has gotten worse. Voters, not feeling much relief, are turning away from the president’s very own economic policies.

President Trump has not delivered on his promises to lower prices - in fact it has been the opposite. In a recent UnidosUS national poll of the Latino electorate, the top most important issues for Latinos were all centered on costs.

Results from our 2024 American Electorate Voter Poll show that Kamala Harris led Donald Trump with all voters except White voters (40-57). Her margin was largest among Black voters (84-14). Our exit poll also found that among Latino voters, Harris led Trump by +24 points.

Results from our 2024 American Electorate Voter Poll show that Kamala Harris led Donald Trump with all voters except White voters (40-57). Her margin was largest among Black voters (84-14). Our exit poll also found that among Latino voters, Harris led Trump by +24 points.
