My suspicion is that the plan is to use a new investigation into Epstein as a pretext for not being able to release the Epstein Files, as it is DOJ policy not to release the evidence in an ongoing investigation.

And Trump will likely successfully use this argument in court to prevent the files from ever being released.

However, the cross correlations with religiosity, traditional beliefs on the roles of women, and economic development correlations with integration of women into the workforce, my feeling is that drop in religiosity is more likely the rate determining step in a given situation.

Well, given the trend of the US (handing over the country to the religious right) I would tend to think that at least in this case, religiosity is driving the movement (lower life expectancy, higher GINI coefficient, etc...)

I would say that it may be a situationally dependent cause and effect.

Looking at the OECD vs. rest of the world, it seems as if lack of belief in the supernatural, or reliance on supernatural intervention, is correlated with better societal outcomes like higher GDP per capita, greater life expectancy, lower crime, reduced wealth inequality, etc...

Of course, it would be hilarious to see a bunch of sanctimonious right wing religious nuts ending up in Hell and wondering how they got there.

"How the **** did I end up here?!?"

Moxie: "Well, starving the poor, protecting pedos, and putting queers in camps, for starters..."

What's super cool is that even though the majority of the audience is atheist, the places that did help received significant donations (one disclosed it was $75k+). A couple of people also did the same experiment on gangs, drug dealer, etc, and found they were more likely to help than churches. 3/3

The Best. I ran it for my son and his friends through high school. They remained friends all the way through college. Two of 'em are getting married (and maybe four). Great kids, and glad I got to be a part of my sons' best life experiences.

Yeah, old, but I can still PT your *** into the ground.

I grew up Mormon, and they have some, uh, unusual dogma about Stan / Lucifer. Honestly, your take makes more sense: a fallen archangel who wanted to help humanity, punished by exile, and only getting to be with with humans who are irredeemably hopeless and or awful.

But they always bring in huge grifters on anything related to trans people.

Literally true. When you read "In The Garden of Beasts" the American diplomatic corps says Nazis were bad, but the Jews had it coming. After WWII, Milton Mayer got the same response from Germans he interviewed. And today, my own father says its a shame I fled the US, but trans poeple had it coming.

It's so weird that people who play a game with elves and magic and mythical beasts and rules that allow "peasant railguns", lose their ever-loving **** if one of the characters in the game is gay or has melanin.

Strapped to one of the nuclear weapons being tested for Trump.

Kidding, but **** I feel old.

They didn't do the things necessary to save our democracy when the had the majority in 21-22. So, its a lose lose either way.
