Fredericksburg VA (my home town) is home to 10’s of thousands of vets. We’re 30 minutes south of MCB Quantico, 45 south of Ft. Belvior, and within an hour of half a dozen other installations. Vets everywhere. They NEED that facility. Desperately. If they gut that facility Vets are going to DIE.

That is the definition of cruel and unusual punishment, a clear violation of the Eighth Amendment.

The only republican left in congress that I have any respect for.

Massie co-authored the discharge petition, so he’s /kind of/ off the hook for this one.

The worst part about this is how unsurprising it is. Insurance companies are inherently disincentivized to approve life-saving procedures. It’s literally better for their bottom line to let you die.

How quickly can you redraw the electoral maps? SCOTUS says it’s ok. lol.

It won’t matter. Even if they get an indictment, (and that’s a huge IF) her lawyers will get the case tossed before it ever sees a court room. They’ll argue vindictive prosecution and use this indictment shopping as clear evidence.

Somewhere Teddy Roosevelt is screaming.

You know, before this administration the running joke was that a Grand Jury would indict a ham sandwich. I cannot ever remember seeing the DoJ fail to secure an indictment on a high profile case like this. Let alone multiple.

10 out of 10 comment. No notes.

That case was absolutely toxic. Even IF they had a real case, no grand jury would have voted to indict after how bad they botched the first attempt. And no grand jury will ever believe this DoJ again after they verifiably lied to the last one to secure the first indictment.

And they don’t have to blow up any fishermen to do it. Funny, that.

They just inadvertently gave the democrats a perfect candidate for the next presidential election. One that will have enormous support with independents and even center-right voters, and is already well liked by democratic voters. If he runs in 3 years it will be a landslide.
