Planting lettuces today and getting the ginger I sprouted into the greenhouse. Today’s lunch reminds me why I do this. Eggs from a neighbour in reciprocity for supper and broccoli and kraut all from her. The bread is my own but the flour is from our prairies.

Such a lovely swirl of animated conversation and joy this weekend with visiting friends. One is a chef and made risotto with sidestripe prawns. Last night I made a chard ricotta lemon galete with a leavened crust.

Lest we be blind eyes retreating to our temporarily safe bubbles (“it’s those people not me”), check out Ezra Klein’s latest. The US is disappearing people to a Salvadoran prison built for disappearances. Trump wants to send “homegrown” Americans there next.

We have a chance that climate change deniers will win our riding with Blue Green and Red TIED. Vote Green for climate. Voting Liberal likely risks a vote split. Vote Green and the worst thwt happens if they hold the blance of power! 🌎 338canada.com/bc.htm

Never thought I’d be celebrating the likely win of a neoliberal banker as PM but Carney is a banker who actually believes we need to get off fossil fuels. Please vote Liberal if you’re in a riding where Trumpian Conservatives cd win. 338canada.com/federal.htm

Spoke to a woman today on Salt Spring who’s reading (and believing) some pretty crazy rumour mill stuff sbout Carney — that he is not Canadian and is a plant. We need to be on guard for this bullshit in the hands of those who traffic in alternative facts. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...
