Systems resulting in false negatives doesn't prevent false positives

False -s when it comes to abusers are also catastrophic

Given the rates of domestic abuse compare to charges and convictions for that abuse it's pretty that the system does not "weigh the harms"

Domestic abuse where the male is the victim has been a taboo, imho. I had a friend, a musician, who'd been the victim of such abuse. As It defies the cliche of masculine power & domination, the false assumption is that this either doesn't happen or that the men it happens to must be less masculine

There is a false equivalence in his argument.
He trivialises & uses misogynistic diminutive terms to suggest only the old, & reproductively successful females may be killed inadvertently. Accepting Coercion? Domestic Abuse?Disregarding that even a single death is one too many & all lives have value.

Taking "Mothers of Sons" at their word, it sounds like it's largely a group of women who find it easier to believe "feminism has gone too far" and men are being subjected to false allegations of domestic abuse and sexual violence than that their sons are who their daughters-in-law say they are.

no, there's nothing fallacious about pointing out that you're here heaping additional abuse on the victim of domestic abuse, in a way that attempts to exonerate depp with false equivalences.

When Amber's team asked Depp if he thought it was false that "Amber had become a public figure representing domestic abuse," if this, in itself, was a lie, judge Azcarate said he did not have to answer, even though this was the whole point of it all. ❝This was an abuse of discretion.❞ ⬇️

I worry that the hopes that UFC mitigated some of the worse aspects of boxing (people dropping out of school early, the prevelance of domestic and substance abuse, exploitation of those involved, etc) have been proven to be a false dawn and that the ability to become fighters is making people worse

Trafficking doesn't always mean locking someone into a room. It can work much the same way as domestic abuse. People are lured in with false promises, and broken down through coercive control. Often trafficking survivors will return to traffickers, because they believe they need to rely on them. 2/3
