The size of fish farms are vast - having no control of operations when overseas owners seemingly "fire at will" leaves one looking at a bleak future for the clean waters of the NW. Video a little of half an hours sailing north, west of Great Bay on Bruny Is. #nomoresalmonfarms

Under water visibilty is fine along the north #Tasmanian coast, virtually nil until one gets into open waters in SE areas dominated by #fishfarms . Once seen /not seen. Recent "protection" legislation is alarming @albomp.bsky.social

#toxic #salmon #polution problem is that the sea is just a skin - looks ok on the surface but underneath any number of diseases can flourish. The channel is the thickest soup I have sailed in (2016 -2024, it was fine in 1980) Never have a scrub & flush with sea waterunless desperate. #notanymore
