tasmaniantimes.com/2025/05/fina... A sensible, alternative plan that won't send the state into a financial free-fall. Ultimately, Launceston's York Park should be the home of AFL in Tasmania. It makes the most sense from all perspectives. #politas

Architect: building an AFL stadium at Macquarie Point is an incredibly bad idea (provides extensive list of easy to understand reasons every one of which should be a dealbreaker)

Relate 🩶
Y'all got angels and demons
perched on yer shoulders?
I got nothing but doubt
and hope over here,
endless,
ephemeral,
forever talkin' shit

This body sags
and leaks
and rots.
The mascots tho,
workmanlike,
bless 'em,
still got their dance to do.

In space, Venus flanks Earth on the left, with a hellfire greenhouse effect. Mars on the right, which long ago had running water. Today, it's bone dry. Something bad happened on each planet.

Seems like the wrong time to limit the Nation’s capacity to conduct climate research.

Beautiful piece from @kudelka.bsky.social, & I don’t know what to say that wouldn’t sound like demanding more (because it is our loss) except they’re very much words to take to heart.
I’m so happy there’s more time for art.
