Some baseball cards I received in a trade with Kerry. Across the top are three Jeff Bagwell cards and a Craig Biggio card. The middle row features a Mother’s Cookies card of Don Sutton with the Oakland Athletics, a Ken Caminiti bat relic card from 2001 Pacific Private Stock, a George Springer jersey relic card from 2017 Topps, and a 2013 minor league card of Springer with the Corpus Christi Hooks. The bottom row features five more Astros cards of Luis Gonzalez, Yuli Gurriel, Jon Singleton, Scott Servais, and Mike Simms.

Two Trey Yesavage cards I’ve pulled recently. One is a certified autograph, a Sensational Signatures Red Pulsar parallel serially numbered #91/99 (on the back) from 2025 Panini Prizm. The other is a relic card, a Jersey Kings Blue Ice parallel from 2025 Donruss and features a small baby blue swatch of his jersey.

Late posting: got to play with my brother and it was a beautiful day.

Start a sandlot team & fun things happen, like the bartender at your local dive coming to practice and making some slick plays, so you invite him to join. Then he brings his skater buddy through, who just also happens to be sous at an amazing Thai joint, and now you get notes in your to-go order.
A to-go box of garlic soy veggies with a note on the lid from the chef on our sandlot team which reads, “see you in the morning!” We have baseball practice in the morning. 😁

Heroes get remembered, but legends never die, as the saying goes. I had to rescue him from atop the kitchen cabinets a few times, he was a bit of a rascal. An A+ cuddle buddy, and a cranky old man in his elder years. Gone but never forgotten.

Honestly, Pecard is my conditioner of choice. Smells great, you can slather it on and just buff off the excess, and it adds a nice little bit of tack to the palm.

I’ve got a 1959 A2000 that I need to get back to, found it for a song & while it’s seen a lot, it’s still got some life left in it.

Thank you very much, learning about what to look for became just as exciting as finding them. Here are a few more.
A late 1960s/early 1970s Rawlings Heart of the Hide Pro 1 B first base mitt that a friend gave me, which was flat as a pancake and dry as the desert. After a lot of love I was able to make it game worthy and it’s seen quite a bit of action. A swell little Wilson A2324 Golden Anniversary model from 1964, endorsed by Al Kaline. This infield glove seems to scoop everything. Very fun to play with at short/third base. A wild and unique U&S Sasaki (now SSK) USG-50 model glove I restored. It is labeled The Catching Machine along the pinky and features a dimple pattern in the palm. The theory was that this would help grip the baseball better on fielding, similar to the texture of a basketball’s surface. This is a large outfielder’s model, probably 12.5 inches. An early 1950s Denkert glove endorsed by Henry “Hank” Thompson, a black baseball player who broke the color line for two major league ballclubs: the St. Louis Browns in 1947 and the New York Giants in 1949. The glove features a padded palm, a shallow pocket, and stubby fingers with a single lace between them. It’s quite small in comparison to modern gloves.

I started playing baseball again a few years ago and that led to redoing my own old glove, which led to hunting for cheap sweet old gloves to rehab, and now I’ve redone 19 I think? A few for friends. I had to stop looking for a bit, I need to move some before I can entertain any new ones.
A late 1960s Wilson A2000-XL model baseball glove which I restored. A 1970s MacGregor G4T glove endorsed by J.R. Richard, which I restored. The glove has a wide and deep hinged pocket, with supple burgundy leather. A special issue MacGregor HRK glove celebrating Hank Aaron’s 715th home run in 1974. The palm features a portrait of Hank in gold ink, encircled by the words “ALL TIME HOME RUN KING” and his signature underneath. The pocket features crossed bats and the number 715. A smaller Franklin 1137 Backhander infielder model glove which I restored. The glove is bright red leather with white welting and a deep blue lace.
