A "Dem candidate" isn't a real "Dem" if human rights are negotiable and flexible to them. They're just a conservative with a different letter next to them because they think it will help them achieve power.

AP style has advised against using (sic) in quotes for six years now, so there's no need to do/acknowledge that at all (especially when they have an embed of the post right below that graf!!)
