The piece fails in mentioning what is arguably the most egregious violation in this government fueled viewpoint discrimination crackdown, the case of Larry Bushart Jr. being arrested and held in jail for over a month w/a two million dollar bail b/c of what he posted about Kirk on Facebook.

He then flexes his now gloved fingers menacingly as he smirks at Jacques. Jacques deflates at this refusing the body cavity search so the official gets out a big stamp and times the smack like presses of it with his words denying the application of immigration. He then says next waving Jacques away who storms off in a huff to be replaced by a stereotypical looking Englishman circa the 1500s carrying the Union Jack. The official is doing paperwork and doesn't notice him approach till he's at the table then he looks him up and down once and just says Denied before going back to his paperwork. The Englishman looks confused as he walks away from the encounter. The words This Day in History fly in from right to close out the scene before cutting to the in studio audience applauding the performance.

He then signals for Jacques to approach and they have a hilarious exchange as Jacques gets more frustrated with the indignities of the process finally complaining about it to which the official responds by noisily putting on a latex glove

Alma is a disabled activist and the daughter of a US Navy vet.

She was attending her monthly immigration check in with her lawyer when ICE grabbed her.

I wrote about her and other disabled people being abused at the hands of ICE.

Their stories are often untold or quickly forgotten:
Disabled People are Being Mistreated in ICE Detention Facilities
Why is no one talking about it? Where's the media? Where's the public outcry? Another example of the pervasive nature of ableism and how society views disabled people as expendable.
