Online debate 🟰 a competition where every participant's a loser but walks away thinking they're a winner.
Very, very true. With thanks to the wonderful Dutch.

It’s a bit like people who believed in QAnon. There’s just no way to bridge the credulity gap. I just laugh them off these days.

Though some founders will work 70+ hours per week for literally no money. They have my absolute respect. He’s just unlikely to be one of those people given his near-constant online presence.

I’m not sure it’s fair to say Elon Musk is working at all. I’m sure he has talent and has worked hard at some point. But right now he seems to be working about as hard as an employed teenager bunking off school.

You can continue, even intensify your Palestinian advocacy. But please make sure others suffering in conflict benefit from your compassion and time.

Funniest thing is how, after endless scandals, Mandelson just keeps bouncing back.

People basically act as if antisemitism had been invented during the XXth century and is not this awful thing that has been thriving in Europe since the middle age if not earlier

Accusations of dishonesty, CAN be antisemitic. But only if it’s based on the Jewish identity of the person in question, and if the person in question isn’t a liar and a racist — which, with Miller, he appears to be both.

The problem is people don’t believe antisemitism exists. They’ve heard the same words, but nothing ever meets their narrow criteria. Even if it nearly word-for-word matches quotes from Mein Kampf. He’d get my vote too, but I would still be cautious with him.

Yeah, I totally agree. That’s why we see scripture about this sort of thing. But each discuss much more widely the value of honesty. Bigots just use it to claim there’s some Jewish or Muslim conspiracy.

All the Abrahamic traditions (and I’m sure some outside) have some interpretation that you could argue says this. This accusation is mostly thrown at us Jews, but it’s equally sad to see it levelled at Muslims. It’s just trying to spread distrust and hatred.

Yeah it's a pretty desperate move. You have to ask two questions. Firstly, why would the Democrats sabotage their own candidate? Secondly, even if we were to accept his claim of sabotage, surely the sabotage is only possible because he got a Nazi tattoo and left himself vulnerable to sabotage?

Also, scrutiny is part of the democratic process. It should be applied to every candidate without preference for party. I think we can all agree that no one with a Nazi tattoo should be in office.

Yeah the real Jews one seems to be gaining some traction at the moment. The problem is people will trust revisionary history more than credible scholars because they believe all credible scholarship is tained by our big Jewish conspiracy.

People who support violence are not just anti-Israel, but anti-Palestine. Cheering on violence that doesn't impact them so they can see their favourite team win.
