I have one of those sunrise lamps that wakes me up with gentle light and music. But...can it also be a little space heater, and wake me up with a gentle toasty breeze? Does this tech exist?

I have an absolute TED talk on how much I loathe leafblowers and these are a few of the reasons why. If you MUST move the leaves (they are a slipping hazard on sidewalks, after all) just rake them! It takes the same man-hours to rake as to leafblow and it's not the literal worst!
“hey hangman you promised us pics of plants, this is just a bunch of leaves what gives?” newsflash dumbass, leaves IS plants. leaves provide winter shelter for insects like lightning bugs and butterflies, fertilize the soil, and are a pain in the ass to move anyway so just leave them where you can

Just checked out the list of nominees for The Game Awards. According to TGA, only 8 games were released this year smdh 🙄. This is why I choose to focus my attention and energy on indie games 😤

My partner texted me that he was getting hangers, and my brain bluescreened and instead of understanding that he was at the store getting clothes hangers, I interpreted it as slang for hangry and sent a very strange response. Maybe I need to go to bed.

In teaching a class on AI ethics, I asked Copilot to generate an image. After 10 minutes, it gave up and suggested I use my imagination. That's the most human thing it's ever done tbh I hate it here

In my capacity as an academic, I tried to coin a fancy and descriptive genre name ("navigable narrative") to rebrand "walking simulators" as more of what they are than what they aren't. Today I heard a podcaster call them "Shift+W games." I can't stop laughing and I might adopt it 🤣

I found a typo on a website from 2011 and I'm unsure if I should report it to the editors (the website is still up and very much alive!) or treat it as an archival artifact and let it be.

Read banned books and play delisted games!

ALSO! Many public libraries have game collections, not just books, so save money by checking out AAA games from your public library!

I pride myself on keeping a good ear to the ground on the video game scene, especially indie games, and one of my top go-tos for news and reviews is Gaming in the Wild. He does both video and audio-only media!

I've been greeting students who schedule meetings with me with "Happy Silksong Day!" and they have all stared blankly and asked what it was. I am genuinely thrown off. I guess it tracks that those celebrating the day aren't making meetings with me today 🤣

D&D story for your delight: my light cleric cast Word of Radiance to introduce sunlight to a haunted vine.

Also my back hurt and I needed to stand.

So I, being an absolute stack of raccoons in a trenchcoat, stood, struck and pose, and shouted, "FLAME ON!"

And that's how we defeated the vine.

Starting to suspect Wordlebot is sexist. It's all chipper and positive feedback for my partner, and then to me it'll say things like "[word] was an okay guess but [other word] would have been more efficient." My partner has never received such language from his bot. I regularly best him, too! 🤔

In this oversaturated market of farming sims, I am stunned that there's no [spiritual] successor to Oregon Trail that focuses on the homestead after completing the journey. As long as it doesn't totally suck, surely that would be the most obvious moneyprinter?
