doesn't matter whether the game was "good" or not: management knew it was going to fail, released it anyway, and then fired everyone. insane waste of everyone's time and labour. what happens to the company's remaining assets now?

it seems to me that disconnected servers that just happen to be running similar code are gonna be a harder target than a big network with millions of users all connected to each other (around couple of gigantic central nodes)

idk I guess I think multiple-signup overhead could be handled in a different way and servers not exchanging messages with each other isn't actually that much of a problem, compared to the additional complexity Full Federation Everywhere brings in (and imposes on the UX)

tbh I don't see what benefit federation actually gives you with a real-time chat service like this; it works for twitterlikes but here I think it creates more problems than it solves

idk I'm not sure matrix is in any stronger a position than stoat honestly. plus their homeserver is atrocious and seems like it's gonna create a lot of potential liability for anyone who federates with them
