Beyond not wanting some third party to have any control over what I make, one of the biggest reasons I'm wary of the idea of working with a publisher is just... what if they shut down? Or what if my game isn't a success and I'm left with more money? It feels like a big risk

The publisher doesn't exist anymore. Not that Frogsong would have saved it or anything but it's just... difficult for me to see the value in a publisher sometimes when even the big ones seem to be shutting down every few months

I just think it's a neat idea if being around Culture had some influence on the Duskman despite everything

The Dreamlight would sometimes go down to the planet it made, but it mostly kept its distance. It believed it wasn't a good idea to spend too much time around the mortals. The Duskman didn't give a shit and was like hey what's up look what I can do and made it rain scorpions

I also think it's just such a brilliant way to reuse assets . we love reusing assets in this house

I think, especially in the context of benign places in a horror game, there's something haunting to me about those places. Anything could be out there.

The world continues beyond the gameplay

Lethal Company's moon exteriors excel at this. Have you ever stood at the entrance to Offense and looked off to the side and realized... how far it goes in the opposite direction of the ship? There's probably so many places you haven't stood at even though you easily could.

Its weird because I was TOTALLY happy to do everything in Hollow Knight. But a lot of what I'm missing in Silksongbis like... tools and stuff that require money. More money than I have. I need to go out and do a bunch of grinding if I want it all. I hate grinding!!!!

You can play the game until you're done the story. Or you can play the game until you think you've found everything. Or you can play until whenever you're satisfied. If you have a completion percentage theres gonna be a nagging checklist at the back of your mind. Its how im feeling about Silksong rn
