A child of the internet and a perpetual try-hard.
I am so glad I am at a point in my career where I do not have to pretend I know Google Analytics.
I didn't know it then, I no longer have to even want to know it now.

I play a lot of Spotify mixes and sometimes the DJ.
The DJ just said it's playing my number 1 some the last week with 11 plays -
Bro.
IF it has 11 plays it is because Spotify played it 11 times.
I didn't even know Spanish Love Songs had new music out until last week. I explored it no further.

Two things I need from Apple:

1. Fix your spellcheck function. If I type 'decomission', you should be able to tell me it is supposed to be 'decommission.' Google can do it. Google can always correct spelling that you cannot figure out.

I listened to Lily Allen's new album in detail today and WOOF I am glad I am not David Harbour nor Madeline.

At this point it has to be a point of pride for late night hosts to have the President call for you to be fired, right?
Like they probably have FOMO if they've missed out on their wrath bc does it mean they're not being funny enough?

It's believably shitty that the Trump Admin is keeping the government shut down over the fact that they really really want millions of Americans to lose their healthcare or see insane rate hikes.
Like bro. The subsidies already exist, we extended your tax plan, why can't you extend the subsidies?

I have never been so pleased to see the recipient of a Nobel Prize. Seriously feared that someone would be dumb enough/bribed enough, to give it to freaking Tr**p.

Also on record - I inequitably support Palestine and feircly do not believe there should be ANY occupation of Gaza.
And frankly... I don't think Hamas is wrong in saying the People should be able to arm themselves during an occupation.
That's similar to the original point of the second amendment.

I am putting it on public record that I'm glad the Dems are FINALLY holding strong (on anything) and that we should all want those healthcare subsidies.

yo Gmail, you know what would actually be useful "Quick Settings"?

Access to editing my signature and my OOO reply. Literally the only two reasons I am ever in my Settings.

Dude. Why do I play Fantasy Football?! Like every year I start optimistic and buy week 3 I'm in this exact frustrated place again.

Hey @agoldman.bsky.social, I just want you to know that I do not mind you asking for funding. I am a premium member but I want this podcast to succeed so I contribute, and I share the stories to encourage others to listen, and I’m not mad that you ask for support.

It must feel so insulting and hurtful to be a family member or friend of the democratic victims injured and killed in Minnesota in confirmed politically-motivated violence, while being left out of our government’s response about political comments on a normal citizen’s attack.

Hey, if you haven't yet - go drink some water.
If it's 3p and you have only had coffee and a coke... chug a glass of water.

I also miss Twitter for being able to find any *major* celeb/journalist/whoever so here's a tweet to the void:

Leila Fadel from @npr.org , you DO sound short! I am stunned to hear you're tall! I didn't know people could sound short but you def don't sound tall.
It is a soothing voice though.

If you're a reporter, please stop referring to RFK Jr and his cronies as "vaccine skeptics." They're not skeptical. Skepticism would be fine. Skeptics look at evidence and can be persuaded.

These people are extremist anti-vaccine cranks, and that's how news organizations should describe them.

I don't miss being on X, but I'll always miss Twitter as a community news space..
Last night a million sirens happened and I wanted to look up the Denver Police Department on Twitter to see if they posted about what it is.

If you're running an Etsy shop, can you please get your orders in the mail within the week of the order?
I ordered from a paper-goods (so, cards and stickers) vendor on 9/2 and the label isn't created!
Meaning I'll miss my deadline to send the card 😔.

NPR’s UpFirst pod included the Engagement News as the final blurb and it was the levity I needed this morning.

Leila Fadel says “I don’t think anyone else’s engagement would make into the news You need” while Steve Inskeep chuckles.

It was great.

One should always fear when I press play on ‘One Fell Swoop’ by The Spill Canvas.
It’s almost certainly late late late and I’m feeling nostalgic. To feel nostalgic is to sit deep in your SAD.
I know I’m old enough to know better. But yet here I am.

Dude, I love the Shaboozey record. If you haven't listened to anything beyond "A Bar Song" then I encourage you to check it out.
It's a really well-rounded, catchy and emotive album. As of now, it's in my top ten AOTY and no past Britt could've predicted my love for a Country album.

I've recently come to understand that I have a lot of sensory overload issues when it comes to my body/things on it/getting too hot/being too cold/etc.
Due to this - I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO GROW OUT THIS UNDERCUT.
Every time it hits about an inch I go nuts and need it shaved immediately.

Just in case it fell off your radar -
Kendrick's 'GNX' is an insane album and deserves every ounce of praise.

No one asked for an update BUT!
I have the extreme pleasure to announce that for the very first time in my car-owning life THE TIRE WAS ABLE TO BE PATCHED!
So Discount does those for free and I drove away tickled with the surprise luck!
I am at Discount Tire to look at a nail in my tire.
This is literally the first time I’ve ever been at a tire spot for an unexpected issue without financial worry and that’s so neat.
I bought so many used tires in my 20s trying to just get by.
