But when I was out doing tourist things today I noticed I can understand spoken Spanish a lot more now, just by studying Portuguese! Interesting. #immigrantthoughts

Though there are a couple of things I have adapted to now that I think about it. I no longer say hello or smile at strangers when walking around my neighborhood and my speaking volume in public places has gotten much lower. #immigrantthoughts

First thought, what does it really mean to "adapt to the culture"? Am I to forget who I have been for 63 years and become Portuguese (impossible anyway)?...
