Discovered temporary tattoo “henna” and honestly it’s amazing for people on the go.

Is it a bastardizing of the tradition… yeah probably.

But I was able to quickly apply it in the car and immediately run after my feral children and dress them for a wedding this weekend so that’s a win.

I’m absolutely terrible at food photography and documenting my little passion, but this is me trying to put myself out there for the first time on something I really care about. And it’s terrifying.

Have you ever made a meal that makes you feel like you’ve achieved something?

This Thai Curry Poached Barramundi was it.

This story out of Winter Haven is wild. Three officers, none thought to remove the child from the ground and to the side rather than letting her lay there beside her mother (with a knee in her back) while another officer stands above her with a gun.

This thrift find yesterday — $20 — is something I will talk about forever.

These treehouses are discontinued and go for $600 on eBay! My kids are going to love it.

Absolutely in awe of The Spear Cuts Through Water.
A Psalm For The Wild Built was the relief and thoughtfulness I needed.

We did start the “thankful turkey” tradition with my three year old this year and displayed it. Maybe next year mom or dad will make it on there.

It’s also the first time in our almost 5 years of marriage that I’ve been able to cook my food and share my traditions with them. Pakistanis have a very particular palette, so I was (unnecessarily) worried.

As Muslims, these foods can be out of reach if they keep halal. We actually skipped the turkey because ordering a halal turkey was going to be $70! There is simply so little options for halal food still in many parts of the US.
We made lamb shanks instead…. Surprisingly more affordable.

Now that I’m recovered, I’m going to talk about Thanksgiving.

I hosted my in laws (15 of them) for their very first “Thanksgiving” and for some of them their first home-cooked American meal.

Reads for November!
Some heavy hitters this month, all of them exactly as amazing as I expected. The imagery in The Road is likely to stay with me forever. Can’t wait to read more Fonda Lee!
