Attended the Greening the Screen showcase in Cardiff yesterday.

Particularly enjoyed seeing a preview of Who Gives a F**k About Polar Bears? by Gavin Porter - a short film exploring climate stories from a working class perspective.

Travel has a huge climate impact but driving isn't the only way to explore the outdoors.

I recently had a running holiday in Assynt, the remote north west of Scotland, traveling from Cardiff by train and bus.

Required good planning and researching local services (very grateful for 'Dial-a-bus'!)

New climate change campaign #Adapt2Win launched by elite athletes around the world in the run up to COP30 calling for climate adaptation investment.

Fantastic to see climate action from athletes including several from the UK - Beth Mead, Keira Walsh, Laura Crane, Raheem Sterling.

Wanting to be part of change but feeling overworked and disempowered: Researchers’ perceptions of climate action in UK universities

Big study published last year which I realised I hadn't shared properly here (was before joining Bluesky).

Yesterday me & @wouterpoortinga.bsky.social held Academics as Agents of Change, a @cast-centre.bsky.social event at Cardiff Uni exploring climate action in universities, specifically by academics.

🧵 Great thread from @thierryaaron.bsky.social below with photos, key points and links from the event.

Part of my PhD research explored the climate emergency declarations by UK universities in 2019/20 - how unis are responding and how they view and present themselves in relation to climate and sustainability.

After completing my PhD earlier this year, I've received my certificate so I'm now officially Dr Briony Latter!

My research covers a few different areas but my PhD looked at universities' climate emergency declarations and culture & practices, particularly climate engagement/action by researchers.

I explore climate action in different sectors & at varying scales to transform society, e.g. a trial for people to test living car-free.

For my PhD, I looked at universities' climate emergency declarations, culture & practices, and researchers' engagement in climate action.

I've worked with the live music industry on sustainable audience travel & explored diversity in photos of outdoor activities. Recently, I've also focused on sport.

One of my projects explored audience engagement with climate-related arts & culture events: www.seasonforchange.org.uk/wp-content/u...
