I'm gonna bitch about written patterns for a moment. While valid. I feel they don't help me hardly at all. I need pictures, I do better with a visual than a vague description that leads me to "trust the process" till it's too late and I' 16 rows past my mistake and it throws the whole garment off.

I just spent the better part of six hours scaling up a cardigan pattern written in Japanese. I am very thankful their patterns are diagram heavy and don't have a ton of random acronyms. The inspo on Ravelry posted pics so I can pluck a part the stitching without having to get too technical.

Ok, ok, ok, I think the first half is over. For now. I have a second half I need to endure tomorrow. I can't imagine there's much left in there. But I am swiftly learning a commode is a requirement.

I want to say that even in large town the healthcare world is so, so, so small. Especially in a specialty that takes years of experience to break into and establish yourself. We had this toxic manager operating at a different site. Under her rule she had nurses transferring sites almost every 6 mo.

@hankgreen.bsky.social is learning that the knitting community is full of pedantic pearl clutchers. I say as a life-long knitter and scientist. A 10-minute video can't encapsulate the art form of knitting in 2-4 minutes. We all need to take a deep breath and remember that thesis statements exist.
