On a autumnal theme again. This is the sitting room carpet of my childhood home that my mum still lives in. The carpet has not changed since 1974 when we moved in. My parents always talked about changing it at various times- never got round to it though.

When went to look at the Ring Of Brodgar is a proper Orkney day. Dreich and windy. Wrapping my head round the that 3 thousand odd years ago people carved, hauled and then set up these stones in meaningful configuration to them ( that we can only debate about) is mindblowing.

Cleaning up some photos on my Google drive I found this one I took when stayed in lovely cottage banks of Loch Awe. In the distance in Ben Cruachan.

I think it has the feels of "Middle Earth" about it.

Talking of Flappers in Glenrothes here is a picture of me as sloshed 18/19 year old. Mel was good friend and she was the queen Goth of Glenrothes and later Edinburgh. She was a vocalist for Scottish anarcho thrash punk band AUK. She later sang for my Uni buddies band. She is no longer with is.
Myself at the age of 18/19 with the lovely Mel Denyer (RIP) Mel was the 'Queen Goth" of Glenrothes and I was just drunk numpty. I think this was late '87

Another part of my youth is getting bulldozed. The Postgate in Glenrothes Kingdom Centre was the pub 'Flappers'. A lot of local youth spent their weekends. Have to say though the last time I was there the buildings were an eyesore so knocking them down is well due. Still <sniff> end of a era.
