I just found out that Raul Malo of The Mavericks died. Crushed is too weak a word to describe my sadness. Damn damn damn. What a VOICE. 60 is far too young. RIP. 2025 can go straight into the bin.

His version of “Blue Moon” is like buttah, but I also love this one. youtu.be/f8cmbIc9-Ig?...

I’d rather watch commercials on Bloomberg tv than the guest on CNBC right now. 😒

Amazing story by @kristoncapps.bsky.social showing how differently Texas is treating towns in its southeast getting aid for Hurricane Harvey damage. Cities w/large minority populations get less than $100 per person. Tiny, almost all-white towns get $40,000 or more www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

For chrissake Joe Kernen, let Walter Isaacson talk and teach, stop trying to talk over and one up the expert. Was almost as bad as last week’s interview with a lot of screaming at and over Sara Nelson. Yikes @cnbc.com.

Halloween is such a perfect holiday to reground yourself in your community. Just throngs of different people wandering the neighborhood with their kids appreciating strangers for helping create something magical. This is what most of us crave.

Today at The Argument we're publishing something very different.

A mother in Georgia wrote to us after her IUD failed. Her email said:

An abortion ban pushed me toward abortion
Is this what the pro-life movement intended?
