My Australian wife visited that museum and found an apology letter from her ex-boyfriend that took the blame for their bad break-up. She had no idea he had ever written it.

When I think about lost media I always think about writers from the 20th century who were ridiculously popular and completely forgotten within a couple decades. Gene Stratton-Porter sold like 50 million books in the 1910s and had a bunch of movies made from them and is (I assume) utterly forgotten
