Listening back to Historian, Turn Out the Lights, and Punisher absolutely puts the current crop of Gracies Abrams to shame, three of the best albums of the last decade and yet Dacus seems to have filed off a lot of her edges, especially in the arrangements compared to her first two albums

Fundamental misunderstanding of what made the first season compelling - sublimation of past violence into a variety of present vices (i.e. addiction, politics, domesticity, elder abuse, vhs store managing) which can't fill the hole of all the deaths - & the writers are just doing more present gore
