It's so hard to maintain our focus when listening to someone - even if we're enjoying the conversation.

That's ADHD for ya. I often ask others to cut to the chase because my brain doesn't have the energy to hang in there for the whole story or explaination.

Lily is so good for my soul!
She can't wait to kiss me in the morning,
and when its time for work she snuggles against me as close as she can and falls back to sleep.

Expecting someone with ADHD to think before they act is like trying to walk a kangaroo after it downed a six-pack of Red Bull 🤭

Understanding written directions better is one of the best uses of AI.

Between dyslexia and processing issues it can be daunting to translate what's written into execution. 1/2

"People are entitled to their own opinion" is a form of cultural gaslighting and is perpetuated by those who don't want their assumptions, conclusions, and biases challenged.

One result is a society ruled by bad ideas that aren't thought through or based upon facts at all.

Feeling tired and feeling fatigued are NOT the same thing.

This mix-up is why so many of us with chronic illness get dismissed—or worse, shamed—for needing more rest.

So, I made a chart to hopefully help clear things up.

I wasn’t checked out—I was shut down. Because honestly? I’d rather be anywhere else than there.

Teachers thought I just wasn’t paying attention. What was really happening? I was drowning in social anxiety, sensory overload, and directions that didn’t stick long enough to make sense. #adhd

We need to allow ourselves to grieve when decreased function occurs because it shrinks our world.

But making peace with this new reality—as best we can—goes a long way in helping us enjoy what we still have.

Weakness? That’s hiding behind sarcasm and aggression because actual confidence takes work.

So, if ‘telling it like it is’ just means being a jerk, maybe try actually being strong instead.

To feel more confident in relationships: focus on your strengths, what you know and do well that you bring to a relationship. Instead of hoping things don't go wrong, "I hope I don't look dumb", "I hope they like me."

When these forces combine, they form the ultimate boss battle known as Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).

There’s nothing wierd about the strategies you use to manage your life. If they work, hurt no one, and are effective, that’s validation enough. Comparison just leads to self-doubt.

Autism is a disability, and denying that reality minimizes the daily struggles of those of us experiencing it far beyond “quirky.”

But autism doesn’t need to be a superpower to be embraced in all its colors.

A necessary evil of living with ADHD
is learning to let go of a lot of new
and interesting (or even exciting) ideas—because if you don’t, you’ll stop what you’re doing to chase them,
and you’ll never see anything through.
