Opening weekend of ALIEN. Ash has been killed, spewed fluids are everywhere, audience has been screaming. Then Ash is asked what happened, his eyes open and he talks again. Someone in audience can't help saying, "Oh for Christ's sake" and entire audience explodes in relieved laughter.

In my case, I didn't respond at the time. Maybe three weeks later I posted this meme in another app without comment. It led people to ask me whether I thought "AI" (I prefer to put it in quotes) is really a problem, and I answered their questions.

I am always a month or so behind in reading comics, but the characters I follow, I follow steadily. Today I read NAMOR #7 and POISON IVY #30, and as it happens, both of them are not only terrific but also pull off narrative strategies that might only be possible in comics. Highly recommended.
