Why are Americans so obsessed with college sports? Wouldn't it make more sense to put all that energy into obsessing about college.... education?
Honestly baffles me.
Universities seem to be sports franchises with education tacked on
The Texas A&M money machine has a tendency to change everyone inside it — and drive many of them to madness.

In his second season as head coach, Mike Elko has the Aggies ranked No. 3 in the country. The Elkos are attempting to stay normal.
Amid the madness of Texas A&M, a coach and his family try to keep it real

Virginia does not have bars. It only allows restaurants, and 51% of sales must come from non-alcohol. But of course it has liberal gun laws....

The more I learn about it the USA, the more I cannot fathom how we ever thought this was a serious country.

Dick Cheney was a mass murderer and a war criminal, who should have been tried in the Hague and put away for life.

That HE said there has never been "a greater threat to our republic [the US] than Donald Trump" speaks volumes about how dire the situation is.

Monkeys are brown, right? So of course the USA police execute them. Easier than, I dunno, thinking
A crash on a Mississippi highway gave a group of lab monkeys a taste of freedom.

But some were killed, police said, after the driver said the monkeys were infected and dangerous. Tulane University said they had not been exposed to any infectious agents. https://wapo.st/4ntQvqw

All this bullshit from Very Serious Commentators on "if you ignore the plain words of the US Constitution and instead use This One Weird Trick, Trump can get a third term" serve only to normalize the idea. Some do it deliberately others do it unwittingly

This is excellent news for many excellent universities in China, India, Europe and elsewhere. Thank you Governor DeSantis for your services to global higher education
Gov. DeSantis directs Florida universities not to use H1B visas. This is such a self-owned. The US is a major exporter of higher ed & sells more of it to China each year than soy. But because a disfavored group offers that service, it's being attacked mercilessly. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/29/u...

Physician Lauren Hughes was driving when another car T-boned her Subaru, totaling it and breaking her ankle.

Then the bills came: $63,976.35 in total because her insurance deemed her hospital stay not medically necessary.
A car accident sent her to the hospital — and $64,000 into debt
This doctor broke her ankle in a car accident. The hospital kept her overnight, but her insurer stopped paying after she left the emergency room.

Why have we not seen a mass doxing?
Is there some reason why this has not happened? Beyond legal and everything in the US is beyond legal now...

Let's start with a famous powerpoint hairball a.k.a. "the Afghanisdag", presented to Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal around 2010. His own rating?
