Any little thing is worth it. I had a mole on my face that looked a little funky. I ignored it for a year or two and finally went in. Luckily just basal cell carcinoma but left unchecked it can be....not good. Glad you were smart. Everyone, do self checks and go in if things seem a little off.

Right wing radio always frames programs like this by saying "what voters don't realize is they have to pay for this." But like....yes, we do and we are okay with that.

The darpa chief?!?! A surveillance camera!?!?

I know it can be hard to find out information on school board races but having been in two, many candidates will use some sort of social media. Also, don't be shy about reaching out to them or local groups on social media who may have more information about individual stances.

It's a good thing their defense was just a little worse than ours.

Yeah. My dad would tell stories about high school gym and swimming naked. Northeastern part of Illinois. Odd that he was also on the swim team and they swam in suits.

Man, I forgot about this one. I ended up getting it as some add on for...probably one of the Sim City games and I could not stop playing it.

Darkness of the meaning and times for this post (somehow) put aside, I think this cover is one of the best ever. Not just this song, but all of them.

I was really sure that said Darth Vader and it took me three reads to realize it wasn't.

It's definitely clothes.
September 28, 2025 at 2:16 PM
Yeah. That is next level petty at this point in the season and in that game. They certainly have no duty to let him try but seriously?

This is big too and applies to everything and both sides of a political coin. News will be given and a retraction may be issued even a few hours later but it's far too late at that point.

I don't think it will go away. A national right wing radio program is still saying this and all shootings are committed by those who have left leaning ideologies. In that group, he included the person who shot at the president.

Because infotainment is such a massive source of news source...1/2
September 12, 2025 at 3:37 PM
...this was today.....starting at 10 am central. Just to clarify.
September 12, 2025 at 3:30 PM
A national right wing radio host, in his first 10 minute segment, spent the entire time saying this shooter was a leftist, was indoctrinated purely by leftists, and said every shooting is perpetrated by leftists.

Infotainment radio is a massive problem.

Silent Hill got me for sure. The fog, the static on the radio, the ambient sounds.

Sorry...for a restaurant, not the plane.
July 16, 2025 at 12:11 AM
Yeah, and the ventilation was always bad anyway so most of the restaurant smelled. I recall, before Illinois banned indoor smoking, that every now and then we would go out to eat with no wait for the smoking section and no one in it. We would sit, and inevitably a smoker would come in right after.
July 16, 2025 at 12:11 AM
I was just talking about this with my kids. How awful it was no matter where you went (if you weren't a smoker.)
July 15, 2025 at 11:52 PM
We bought them to try....they aren't that great, sort of BBQ sauce-y but still not.
July 8, 2025 at 10:17 PM
We live in a small neighborhood in suburbia but we still have a dinner bell to ring our kids in for meals/bedtime.
July 7, 2025 at 12:41 PM
Right wing radio, just today, was saying that the left is insane for calling them that and that the real NAZI comparison is to the immigrants invading our country.
July 1, 2025 at 6:48 PM
Way down the worry list of the recent ruling but as someone who has painted his nails for around 20+ years, I would hope its as simple as saying some people like to do that and it is fine. I have had kids (usually boys) ask me why I do it and that is almost always the only answer they need.....

How is this a problem to hear in a story at a public school? Acceptance of other people's choices in attire/adornment? Presumably in lessons about being empathetic, caring members of society?
June 30, 2025 at 3:32 AM
I have not read it yet but it sounds like the young boy in the story enjoys sparkly things (his sister's new skirt, a bracelet, painted nails, etc). In the end, it seems to more or less say "who cares what they are wearing, it is just what they like."
