Have you heard “The Wall?” It predicted Trump rallies in the late 70s. I seriously thought at least some speaker would start a rally with “So you thought you might like to go to the show…”

Mike, I was just asking you to back up your complaint with more than mere hyperbolic statements, especially since you’ve been writing about these issues for years. If there’s a better solution, don’t keep it a secret pending the publication of your paper. The Senators need to hear it now.

That's how the democratic process works. It's not just enough to bitch about something. You've got to propose something better. Given your involvement and background, I thought you might have some serious proposals at the ready.
February 26, 2025 at 10:00 PM
Respectfully, that's not really what I said, but let's just assume you're right. Please tell us what really led us to here and what our elected officials can do to improve things. You've dedicated significant energy to complaining about something they're proposing, so give us your better idea.
February 26, 2025 at 10:00 PM
But you’d have to concede that those things have already happened. 230 has helped us get to where we are today. Is there any change to the US Code you’d propose to improve these things? Otherwise, it seems to me that doing nothing is just going to keep doing what it’s already done.

Well, in your article you state that three bad things would happen if 230 was repealed: 1. Make Big Tech even more powerful
2. Hand MAGA forces a powerful weapon for silencing opposition through legal harassment
3. Cripple the digital infrastructure needed for organizing democratic resistance.
February 26, 2025 at 8:32 PM
So, 230 created the legal environment that allowed the internet to flourish, but also permitted some sites to avoid liability as they grew so massive that taking 230 away won’t harm them but would put others out of business. So, what, then, is your proposed legal solution?
February 26, 2025 at 8:15 PM
I don’t know. If getting rid of 230 means getting rid of Bluesky as well as all the other social media platforms, I think I’m good with that.

I’ve not watched MSNBC for a single second after election night for a myriad of reasons, and that will obviously continue, but for new reasons now.

Does “executive time” count?

Spoiler alert: they won’t care.

We could desperately use Phil Hartmann right about now.

Well, now I feel old. I remember the first time this aired.
February 17, 2025 at 10:40 PM
I legit expected Trump to open one of his rallies with, "So you thought you might like to go to the show...." It feels like this entire four years is just going to be "The Wall" writ large.
