most electrons we recycle aren't actually fit for recycling because they have too much email residue on them. instead they end up being dumped in the vast empty space in sam altman's skull

I just love it when English folks take colonialism straight to the chin and shrug it off, but question stargazy pie and you better get ready to rumble.

I could’ve been clearer. I was saying it’s interesting that local first has become synonymous with those things. I think it’s important that it doesn’t become ONLY those things.

OTOH I kinda like that "local-first" is a shorthand for "high-quality, fast user experience" here. (Although I agree with you that "X without Y" framing verges on disingenuous if Y is a natural consequence of X.)

Nice. Good way to do it. I really liked being a member at mine but it turns out I wanna make the machines more than using them. 😆 Will have to look Shopbot up.

Apparently I’m never gonna get over the fact that I can grow lettuce in my basement. I see why people get into gardening, even without the systems component.

Finally, I really like the color of the nutrient mix but I haven’t posted it before. One of the ingredients in the masterblend has a blue-green dye. Very nice to mix.

Next, here’s my mini experiment. These plants are the same age, but one spent an additional week in the nutrients. It really shows. I think I only need to let them germinate for about a week going forward.

1.07lbs from two plants before cleaning and chopping. Pretty good!

First off, here’s the first head harvested with the new 8-15-36 nutrients. Much better leaf quality and the taste is better too: it’s missing the bitter taste I had with the marijuana-focused nutrients.

Oh really? That’s interesting. I wonder if he’s better known here on account of the Gateway Arch.

Is he named after Saarinen?
