Pop culture obsessive, therapist, friend to many but definitely not all
His book is a bestseller and he’s going on shitty podcasts talking about how the experience showed him who his true friends were. If only he actually were cancelled.

You mentioned Ryan so I feel obligated to stump for the very good second season of Tim Roth’s LIE TO ME, another procedural that was way better than it had to be once Ryan showed up

Every time. People show you who they are, it’s just easy to miss sometimes

Makes perfect sense. I’ve had a lot of clients who felt sure but still wanted the official diagnosis for peace of mind.

I think it’s supremely fucked up that having the opinion “20 year olds look like children” makes me a good guy or whatever. What a terrifyingly low bar.

Have you taken the RITVO? Not confirmatory but easy to find for free online and a generally reliable indicator

In addition to the fact that it's very much the power imbalance and legal responsibility to protect them that makes them children, it's also disturbing that so many people are willingly like "listen, 15 year olds are hot, and that's a fact." They are children. They look like children.

The TV version of John Carpenter’s THE THING had a lot of this. If memory serves, Keith David refers to the creature as a “monkey fellow” at some point.

Yes, people from Southern California, the region and the school, know. If he’d been playing just a little more recently there would have been more stories about it.

I saw it at 14 or so at an art theatre in Costa Mesa and the ‘sex’ part of that description definitely was a big part of the draw at the time. But as I’ve gotten older I’ve appreciated the rest of it even more

Yeah, absurdist existential horror sex comedy. Rupert Everett is great in it.

Also, this is in my personal top tier, a movie I rented from Blockbuster as an 11 year old & proceeded to watch dozens of times. My wife and I watch it at least once a year still. Everyone is perfect—well, Kingsley is something anyway—and play off each other beautifully. Great heists, great gadgets.

Scott, I love you. Just gonna go ahead and assume my skeet (ugh) was the sole inspiration for this. Please do not disabuse me of that assumption.

Just told someone the other day this was my favorite song from SIXTEEN STONE. Maybe “Little Things” because it’s dumb, rocking fun, but definitely one of the two.
