These pugnosed tree frogs Smilisca sila are tough to photograph in a natural pose that reveals their sky blue thigh and groin area. Cool creatures from my last Panama visit.

This was one of the most impactful moments in my life from 12 years ago. Encountering a Tristan thrush on inaccessible island, one of the remotest islands in the world. They had no fear of humans as they navigated oceanic trash piles washed up on their beach.

Here is an awesome spotted turtle that is radio tracked by our turtle team to understand how these pretty little guys are persisting in agricultural landscapes in Virginia. Draining and tiling of fields has eliminated most of the habitat that they rely on.
