Another "card" format but this time it's not scrollable, but clicking the individual cards has a new link dump? Everything else is scrolling left to right but this is for some reason an index style. Why is all the text in a wave format? Makes it a trip to read. How many links does it take to get to the center of the *ugh* *oooh*? (h/t: Sisqo) Every carousel is trying to get me somewhere, I just don't know where. The text size from a section header to a date instance is just too much IMO. And it doesn't help that the section heads are falling all of the time, giving this sort of "the site is falling apart and journalism is crumbling" aesthetic to the whole thing.

Here's one of the (many) UI card formats. Not terrible but one of the 4 or 5 versions of these cards and its not clear why this one is different than any other. Of all the card types this one is probably the least "modern" but the easiest to read. This is a trip. They're trying to show all the authors on the site but in a scrolling bubble format? Why? Are we supposed to be clicking these for more Chris Ryan takes? Well, that bubble just floated away. This is so weird for a web magazine (but maybe not weird for spotify?) This is a menu. What in the actual heck is going on? And why these categories? Why do they stack like this? What do the colors mean? Nothing....? Geez....
