The LA hat has replaced the NY hat as the default “American” hat and I think we’re worse off for it

Since musical genre is a construct rooted in separation and not in unification… workshopping this.

City Vs Suburbs: what I’ve seen is a difference of living ‘among’ a community or ‘in’ a community.

How do I live in a timeline where Trevor Story leads the Red Sox in home runs?

@nathanchubbard.bsky.social I know your Haim “fire into the sun” song is Spinning but if Haim is modern California-70s rock, then the Alana songs are the Christine McVie songs. Plus, Million Years is actively worse, despite the theoretical sum of its parts. /gets off soapbox

It’s painful to read articles of this low quality on ESPN.

The AI slop “reporting” they allow to go on the main page is an insult to the whole profession.

I sign on to this app occasionally and question my ability to read whatever is passing for English and grammar.

Y’all are making me think I’m dyslexic.

It’s fair to compare the Bane and Devers trade where moving Bane brings back real value back to Memphis and Devers looks more like Barkley to PHX.

Why do grocery apps have the worst UI possible?

This is why in pro wrestling they don’t have two heels go after each other. It’s impossible to figure out who to root for.

I need to write things down more. I called it that this billionaire bromance wouldn’t last more than six months.

I find that the sentence structure and word choices on this app makes me wonder if my contacts are still working.

How is it that Costco’s parking lot is always full? It’s a great irony of our time that this store can do everything in bulk EXCEPT parking.

I have skeeted in a while, so it seemed worth saying: Hell Hath No Fury is my favorite rap album of all time and I just got the vinyl and it’s missing all of the high end, plus the volume is low.

Asking genuinely- if R’s are proposing things like raising a child tax credit to $5k/yr, why don’t D’s propose something like $15K/yr and just point to the fact that it costs a lot to raise a kid and $15k is closer to reality.

Liam Neeson is in menace?? (yes, this is how much I am familiar with this movie… I don’t even know who’s in it except for maybe Sam Jackson??) And if he is a Jedi, that means he has a very particular set of skills.

And I know I’m definitely not the first person to have a take like this, but we spent way too much time with the Ewoks. It was like they just ran out of story and needed more merch.

I’m watching all the Star Wars movies for the first time starting with New Hope. In the scroll for the first three movies, it was like the rebels are trying to save the universe and there’s a death star. Then get to Phantom Menace and I have to learn about tax codes and take civics classes.

It’s weird that that the Baseball hall of fame players have logos on hats. Does any other major sport do that in their HOFs? (Closest analog is that WWE inducts ‘versions’ of the same guy, which would be a fun way to do it.)

The Lakers sending what they did (Knecht, Reddish, 2031 unprotected first-round pick and 2030 pick swap) to the Hornets for Williams makes the Dallas deal look even MORE ridiculous.

How is it that Lakers have to send a pick for Mark Williams and not Luka? BONNNNKERS.

In other news I found the Reality Bites soundtrack, Matthew Sweet Girlfriend, and David Gray White Ladder… and the Japanese import of She’s All That Soundtrack (2 disks??) at Salvation Army yesterday for $6 total.

I just wonder how the abstaining (and Jill Stein voting) Democrat-leaning and swing voters in Michigan and elsewhere feel hearing the news this morning about the plans for the new Trump Casino in Gaza.

Lied to?
Surprised?

Once a critic of nation building, the president now envisions taking over a Middle East enclave, driving out its Palestinian population and transforming it into “the Riviera of the Middle East.”

When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here. Take inspiration from it.
