I started a new job today, and it's kind of amazing the level of comfort that brings. I'd been employed for 22 years straight (ignoring weekends between jobs) and losing mine in July was jarring.

However, it also seems like it was maybe the best thing for me.

Nothing special, I do that too
Google has acknowledged that sometimes when Gemini can’t solve a problem it descends into a pit of self loathing.

Examples of its comments include
- "I have failed you. I am a failure"
- “I am a disgrace to my species”
- "I have made so many mistakes that I can no longer be trusted."
Google says it's working on a fix for Gemini's self-loathing 'I am a failure' comments
Google Gemini users said the bot is sharing self-loathing messages while attempting to solve tasks, including "I am a disgrace to this universe."

I wrote a whole ton of random little experimental things using JS in like 2008, 2009, and I'm now working on creating a new personal website, and it's kind of a weird wild blast from the past to look at this code that had like, IE8 polyfills and jQuery 1.7 and such

I don't suppose I know anyone who works at @discord.com? Genuinely interested in applying for discord.com/jobs/8058456... and would love to chat with someone about it.

Today is the first day that I’ve been unemployed without another job lined up since 2003.

That’s a weird feeling.

I’ve made it through like … at least six or seven rounds of layoffs at various companies in my career. Never once laid off, somehow.

Guess that streak had to end someday. Like today.

If you need someone who’s been writing JS since the ‘90s and knows weird browser shit AND backend too, hit me up!

Glitch going away is apparently the kick I needed to get going with a new website. I haven't done this in ... ages. Enjoying Astro for it.

Can’t say that “call 911 to get my 9yo off my roof” was something I’d ever be doing but here we are.

He climbed a tree to see if he could do this but without a plan to get down.

He’s totally fine and honestly he enjoyed it.

I can’t say I did, though. 😂😅

Nora’s work is excellent.

I bought a pendant from them for my child, and it’s their favorite piece of jewelry. Very happily and proudly worn by my kiddo as often as they can. ❤️
Happy Saturday everyone! I have a shop where I sell glass. I focus mostly on jewelry (pendants, bolo ties, cufflinks) but I also do glass game tokens, pocket hearts and paws.

Shares would be a huge help! Thanks!

Feeling an urge to rebuild a personal website for the first time in some years.

Played a good deal with Astro and quite liked it. It feels familiar and easy to use and just kinda works, and I’m honestly a little stunned.
