Covered in layers of sand, solvents and oil while repairing machinery in the vicinity of molten metal. The rest of the time I try to contact strangers with whatever I can use as an antenna, photograph everything and disappear into books.
Dunno what they were thinking, or even if they were at all.

I thought my eyes were beginning to betray me (and they are) due to night driving becoming more difficult. Turns out the night driving issues were solved by finally replacing the headlights. The recent onset of nearsightedness and astigmatism were solved with a prescription.

I thought I would get about a week of lunch breaks out of this. No such luck, couldn't set it down Friday night and finished it Saturday morning.

Trying to get some pics of the pink salmon spawn on the Snoqualmie river this morning. I have no idea if any are any good yet.

Normally I have a good chance of seeing turkey vultures in this spot at least through September, but haven't seen any for a bit over a month. Kind of a bummer for my breaks at work.

I've been using these water purification tablets on longer hikes for about four years and despite having read the directions numerous times, the part about waiting four hours is only standing out now. All this time I've been waiting 30 minutes at best.

Signs like this one have been in this spot since the mid-90s, but THIS one has got to be new given the lack of uhh, customization.

Really appreciating the brief reprieve from summer this morning

After 2-1/2 years does a temporary fix still count as temporary?

First Perkins engine I've seen that wasn't in any kind of ag equipment. Yes, I'm that bored at work today.

Why can't stuff like this happen at the start of the day?

I don't know anyone there, but its a place I keep noticing and seems interesting. If the commute is more than you're okay with, doing searches for industrial maintenance/machine maintenance would almost certainly turn up something closer.

Managed to briefly get outside a couple times yesterday.

Supposed to be nice weather today so of course the most pressing and time consuming thing to work on today is underground.

Still awake after midnight...
It's totally normal to row at this time of night right? 24 more days to go.

The moment I get comfortable in a chair with a book...the power goes out. Which leaves me to debate going to sleep, reading with a battery lamp or babysitting a generator until whenever the power is restored?
