It was shown early on that including even a small amount of ML generated content in the training materials for another ML model really messes it up. Many smart people saw this coming, but the push of tech bros to shove AI down everyone's throat was far more important than not poisoning the well. 🤷

Oh, I was under the impression the only reason Amazon has a retail arm anymore is to make sure no other online bookstores get big enough to get funny ideas about trying to run the Internet or starting a space program. Nobody earns billions of dollars through competition. 🤷

You mean if Sears ran the Internet and had a space program? 🫠

I learned so much about Australian culture when I learned about Goon of Fortune. 😂

It's not too bad, just need a programmable splitter on the output of each recycled recipe with the priority getting merged into the input of the other recycled recipe and the overflow being the actual output. This ensures the loop spins up as quickly as possible. 🤓

That's the magic of the recycled plastic/rubber loop: It can take the initial ratio of diluted fuel and residual rubber into any ratio of recycled plastic or rubber. These are the ratios for 100% plastic and 100% rubber:

Using alternate recipes, the most efficient way to make any ratio of plastic to rubber is using heavy oil residue, then residual rubber + diluted fuel to the correct ratio for the recycled plastic + recycled rubber loop. (The math gets a little tricky on the loop.) 😅

Mix-maxing the game is a deep rabbit hole. As you unlock more stuff it does help to start planning a cohesive build ahead of a run and toggle off other weapons, tomes, and items though. 😅

But linear regressions will only ever show us correlations, and sometimes a collection of correlations can point to a causation, but it's still been reduced to a math problem that has been removed from the higher meaning of the variables that would be needed for reasoning why they are related.
October 8, 2025 at 3:10 PM
Neural networks (including our brains) are correlation deduction machines. As science likes to remind us though: correlation is not causation. When there is causation it requires a higher order of reasoning and experimentation to prove. I think that is where actual intelligence starts to happen.
