I've been planning an adventure for myself to jump around northern Italy to see some operas there. I'm going to have some time between shows though, so if anyone has some suggestions of things to see or places to eat around Milan, Genoa, Bologna, or Turin, I'd really appreciate some suggestions! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ•

Cory Doctorow recently wrote a blog post about the act of writing in the face of AI that is very relevant and enlightening: pluralistic.net/2026/01/07/d...

To end the year I played in a one day mini-tournament last weekend. My team got to the finals, but we lost in a shootout. It was a lot of fun though, got some nice spots on my new twig, but they busted up my tape job already. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

I agree that is hypocritical too, though most furry artists won't accept commissions of copyrighted characters for that reason. ๐Ÿคท

I rolled my eyes when a streamer was criticising some indie games for using AI generated art/textures but I pointed out they had a LLM powered buddy and they said "oh but that's different"... ๐Ÿ™„

There are some people out there that actually do prefer silicone, I can't knock people's material preferences, but others are drawn to the cheaper price point and similar "look" despite its much lower durability, heavier weight, etc.

I'm not really a fan of these silicone products, they won't replace latex though for those who care about such things. ๐Ÿคท

I've been meaning to switch to Graphene OS, a nice middle ground of being able to have a functional phone and limiting Google's reach into it.

Housing, food, even social issues and politics are increasingly being used as tools to make some sociopath's net worth go up. All the consequences are merely "externalities" for the rest of us to live with.
