Overthinking is my superpower and my kryptonite.
Don't ask them to write more tickets lest it be interpreted as an illegal quota resulting in a multimillion dollar payout to under productive patrol officers a la Lawrence Township.

That's not Joe Jonas on the right?!

About 2/3 of the debt held by the public is held by Americans. What impact do we expect from their loss of interest income that largley flows back into the economy?

In NJ we have stores like "Homesense", "HomeGoods", and "at home" but I can't vouch for any of them. For "premium" flatware I might look in Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, sur la table, (maybe) Macy's or Bloomingdales....and might end up back at Target, Kohls, or Ikea after seeing those prices.

Seems like you've got some good leads to investigate above.

Sure, but moderation codified and agreed-to in TOS can still amount to what people understand the word "censorship" to mean.

"Censorship" and even "free speech" are not exclusive to 1st Amendment constitutional rights.

When serious, competent people won't work for you, you turn to people who can't say no.

Absolutely! Sometimes even *I'm* obnoxious on FB. But most people can tolerate the occasional blips in longstanding relationships. On threads, we're not interacting with anybody we've developed any affection for and it's 99.9% bad first impressions. Oops!

FB still works for us Olds, tho. We have so much critical mass of longtime IRL & fb friends that it's worth scrolling by the nonsense. We get to see what's up with people we went to Kindergarten with (70's) or folks we got to know better via FB than we did when we knew them in college. (90's)

Can we really look at the SC, the House, the Senate, and the Presidency and call him, the leader of the party that accomplished this, an incompetent loser?
November 22, 2024 at 4:28 AM
I agree he's incompetent in the traditional sense but this whole thing is win-win-win-win for him.

Trump's internal definition of a win changes to suit the circumstance. A loss is always somebody else's fault that was impossible to see coming.

Meanwhile....

Sure, it wasn't a *deliberate* head-fake or standard high-IQ 4D chess.

But it *was* a bit of a head-fake and unintentional 4D chess.

This is why even "not smart" narcissists succeed and confound "traditionally smart" normal people.

This whole Gaetz sequence was win-win-win-win for Trump.

As for Musk....his success is largely built on ignoring collateral damage. Rapid Unplanned Disassembly is an opportunity for progress!

So I'm not sure *Musk* lives in your "it's time to build wing." Isn't the whole point of DOGE to rapidly disassemble a whole lot of government? 4/4

OTOH, the "Administration" has specific objectives but they can be reduced down to the unitary goal of Starving the Beast. And the result matters more than the pathway. Whether unserious appointees lead to chaos and brain drain or more capable eviscerators hack & slash, the result is acceptable. 3/

He's highly effective at getting what he wants. A common mistake is to try to pin down what he wants at any given moment. It can even change between that start of a sentence and the end of the sentence. And hurting people he doesn't like is as positive as praise from people he does like. 2/
November 22, 2024 at 1:21 AM
Trump himself and the "Trump Administration" don't have the same objective or motivators.

Trump flops around on policy because the specifics don't matter to him. When he flops onto a position and others' responses trip his narcissism receptors, that feedback enhances his "internal algorithm." 1/
