Afghan women are treated like slaves in their own country. Their cricket team should have the right to represent their country. Perhaps the only thing most of us can do to is to keep their story in news. www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news...

If you feel moved to ‘do something’, you can donate to the #Afghanistan women’s cricket team as refugees in Australia. With no recognition from the ICC, their ability to play as a group depends on funds being raised for a 3yr volunteer-led prog lords.org/refugeefund #ENGvAFG

The Afghan Women’s team have asked us to keep them in the headlines. They have been through ordeals that many of us can only imagine and have risked their lives to play a game that many of us love. They played one game and deserve greater recognition from the ICC. www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVKh...

They should be playing as the official Afghan team team and the ICC should recognize them as such even if the Afghan Board feel they can’t.
I’m missing something here. Why can’t the ICC declare that they are the Afghanistan Women’s team? The men’s team don’t train or play in Afghanistan, so what’s the difference?

Something to bear in mind for those who were credulous (or mendacious) enough to cheer on Greg Barclay's self-serving and extremely misleading comments on the issue of the Afghanistan women's cricket on exit from his post as ICC chair.

Good on Heather Knight for using her voice in this way. We absolutely need to keep in mind that there is a group of women cricketers at the heart of this, whose hopes and dreams have been wrecked by the evil of the Taliban.

The ICC should be ashamed of themselves
As far as I can tell, no-one has ever asked the ICC to explain why they chose to make this very specific amendment.
Will repeat, the ICC didn't just fail to enforce their own membership criteria, and then ignore all communication from the refugee players.

As if that weren't enough, they then went a step further, to amend their technical documentation to remove full status from Afghanistan women, and them only.
