what's interesting is the past few months the mag 7 is actually pretty flat compared to the rest; the equal-weight 500 is up (which is the other 493 going up, relatively -- it's broadening)

also fun fact: NVDA is cheaper now than when chatGPT launched

nope, just random!

in general I find success in asking for opposite things, so here we have "brutalism" and then a bunch of christmas cozy fire workshop type words that offset it

I liked the stairs and massing in this one too:

I've owned and repaired a lot of kitchenaid mixers over the years!

they're great, the aftermarket parts support is healthy and the repairability itself is generally pretty good; they're relatively simple and old-school machines

one of my favourite things about my credit card is that it just gives you a breakdown of spending at all times

it's actually pretty useful for monthly average spending per category across different time spans. more banks should do this

I always liked North Hill in Calgary -- it's two retirement homes attached to a small mall with a food court, which means the elderly walk around and hang out and get food. there's a Safeway, a dollar store, etc, all without having to go outside in the winter or drive or anything

my first job out of mechanical design school was in a factory with a few press brakes and let me tell you this one part is probably over an hour of human time

and we'd never run it in production; you'd end up scrapping half of 'em to mistakes or tolerance issues anyway

not sure if 'told' is exactly the right verb, but certainly there are a lot of exposé writing from inside industries where people use it a bit and realize it's getting scary good, even compared to top-of-pack humans
