I love it when a tool does exactly what it's supposed to. I finally had a reason to buy a set of thread repair files. I didn't even know these existed until the last couple years.

I knocked my Lunt's aluminum lens cap onto a ceramic pot and damaged the leading thread. (1mm pitch) Fixed it right up!

For the #astro gallery, here's a picture of the Cygnus Wall. It's my favorite feature inside the larger North America Nebula. I love the Dark Nebulosity.

I'm looking forward to shooting this again once I get my mono rig setup.

Have confirmed, sun still exists.

This is actually the first time playing with a solar scope (Lunt 50). Got it for outreach, but no reason not to figure out solar #astrophotography!

Now to figure out this visual observing thing... I hear you need an "eyepiece" or something. :)

1 year in I've moved to an astro rig with a cooled OSC, GEM and NBZ filter. 3 years I've added a C6 and Pixinsight (and more).

Still learning. I messed up my acquisition last year to get the core exposed and had bad flats. Won't get more data this year, but hopefully next! Getting closer!

2 months in. I learned allot. Transitioned to using Siril from DSS. Started using a longer focal length. Collected, processed, reprocessed. Finally got imagery I was getting proud of.

Night 2. Night 3. Pulled out my telephoto, learned more about stacking and processing.

Not only did the results exceed my expectations but so did the available tooling and educators (Trevor, Cuiv, Dylan, Nico and all the others) that made this so approachable.

I wanted the classic Milky Way over the tent shot with pinpoint stars. Really, just the next stage of my long exposure landscapes.

My partner gave me a SkyGuider. So, into my Bortle 8 backyard to learn stable tracking. Pointed at a constellation I knew, and there was the nebula! Hooked!

Haven't had time or clear skies lately to get anything new, but went back and worked on some data of the Elephant Trunk and finally got a result I'm happy with. #astrophotography
