I love it when a tool does exactly what it's supposed to. I finally had a reason to buy a set of thread repair files. I didn't even know these existed until the last couple years.

I knocked my Lunt's aluminum lens cap onto a ceramic pot and damaged the leading thread. (1mm pitch) Fixed it right up!

For the #astro gallery, here's a picture of the Cygnus Wall. It's my favorite feature inside the larger North America Nebula. I love the Dark Nebulosity.

I'm looking forward to shooting this again once I get my mono rig setup.

Have confirmed, sun still exists.

This is actually the first time playing with a solar scope (Lunt 50). Got it for outreach, but no reason not to figure out solar #astrophotography!

Now to figure out this visual observing thing... I hear you need an "eyepiece" or something. :)

Let's try the plate solving bot...

Haven't had time or clear skies lately to get anything new, but went back and worked on some data of the Elephant Trunk and finally got a result I'm happy with. #astrophotography

Since I'm new to Bluesky, I thought it would be fun to revisit the accidental beginnings of my deep space #astrophotography hobby. (I mean, I'm still new to this with only 4 years.) But I was absolutely not intending on starting this black hole of a hobby.

Of course this started with Orion....
